Frequently asked questions
The most common questions we get from our clients
For the best results, we recommend shaving or waxing, exfoliating, and lightly moisturizing at least 24 hours before your spray tan appointment.
Proper skin prep is key to achieving a flawless, even tan from head to toe. For a detailed guide on our top prep tips and what to do on the day of your appointment, visit our skin prep page.
We recommend wearing loose-fitting clothing, like sweats, after your spray tan. Tight clothes can leave marks and interfere with the even absorption of the tan. Opt for something comfortable and roomy— the looser, the better.
It’s also a good idea to wear dark-colored clothing, as some of the solution may transfer onto your clothes right after your tan. Don’t worry though— it washes out easily!
With our classic solution, your tan will take 6-8 hours to fully develop.
If you prefer a quicker option, we also offer a rapid tan solution that develops in 3-5 hours.
A spray tan take 24 hours to fully develop even after your initial rinse.
No! That’s a common misconception. Our high-quality solutions use naturally derived DHA, which reacts with your skin's amino acids to create a sun-kissed, natural glow that complements your unique undertone.
On average it takes about 30 mins.
Absolutely! Airbrush tans do not interact with the sun and do not provide any UV protection. They won’t prevent you from getting a tan or block further sun exposure. So you still need to wear SPF.
We will only spray tan men that come in with a female who is getting a spray tan. We do not spray tan men who come in alone
The best way to exfoliate is by using a dry brush or our exfoliator mitt. Exfoliating is essential for an even, long-lasting tan, as it removes dead skin and reveals fresh skin underneath. Be sure to shave and exfoliate 24 hours before your appointment to allow your skin to recover and avoid irritation. Exfoliating too close to your appointment may affect the tan’s development due to changes in pH levels after showering.
Please make sure to remove all old spray tan or self-tanner at least 24 hours before your session. Getting sprayed over old tan can cause uneven, blotchy results. Also, remove makeup and avoid chemical exfoliants and retinol for 24 hours before your appointment.
We will do our best to accommodate you and make something work for your schedule. We also offer "after hours" appointments . Just send us a message or give us a call at 401-527-5777 to inquire about availability.
A spray tan may help fade lighter, uneven tan lines, but distinct lines like those from halter tops or watches may be harder to cover. Any coverage is temporary, so it’s best to consider tan lines before events like weddings. Try wearing a bandeau or avoiding sun exposure to minimize lines before your appointment.
We don’t recommend getting a spray tan on sunburned skin or peeling skin, as it can lead to uneven, blotchy results. Sun damage within 30 days of your appointment can also affect your spray tan’s development.
Some deodorants contain aluminum, which can react with the DHA in spray tan solutions and cause greenish discoloration. To prevent this, we recommend not using deodorant 12 hours before your appointment and waiting 24 hours to apply it after.
With proper prep and aftercare, our spray tans last 7-10 days. Moisturize daily and use our Tan Extend Lotion to extend your tan up to two weeks. This also helps it fade evenly.
To avoid staining, wear dark, loose clothing to bed if you plan to sleep in your tan before rinsing. Most of the solution washes out of fabrics, but natural fibers like wool and silk may absorb color.
We apply barrier cream to your nails and feet to prevent discoloration, and use feet stickies to keep the bottoms of your feet clean.
Yes, we've found that many women are happy to have spray tans during pregnancy and breastfeeding. However, we always recommend consulting with your doctor before your appointment. We also offer masks for additional comfort if needed during your session.
Yes, spray tanning is completely safe for breastfeeding parents! To make your experience as convenient as possible, we recommend bringing your own nipple covers and scheduling your appointment around your baby’s feeding times. Since it takes 6-8 hours for the tan to fully develop, it’s best to avoid breastfeeding during that period.
Once your tan has developed and you've showered, you can resume breastfeeding as usual. For added convenience, we also offer a rapid solution that develops in just 1-3 hours, which may be a great option for parents looking to cut down on waiting time.
Avoid sweating or exercising for 24 hours post-tan. Your tan can develop unevenly if you sweat or expose your skin to excessive moisture.
